Goals & Objectives

TiE Global is a nonprofit venture devoted to entrepreneurs in all industries, at all stages, from incubation, throughout the entrepreneurial lifecycle. With a global reach and a local focus, the heart of TiE efforts lies in its five foundational programs, – Mentoring, Networking, Education, Funding, and Incubation.
Several members have formed startups while at TiE, and are now charter members giving back to the community. TiE’s ultimate goal is to foster entrepreneurship, creating wealth for both the entrepreneur and the local communities.

Our Story

About TiE Ottawa and its Impact

TiE Ottawa, a sister chapter of TiE Global, is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in the region. Through our programs, mentoring, networking, education, funding, and incubation, we support startups and small businesses, creating wealth and opportunities for local communities.

TiE Ottawa hosts regular events focused on empowering SMEs and startups in the region. Our charter members, member entrepreneurs, and sponsors contribute to our mission by giving back to the community.

What we do

TiE  is world’s largest entrepreneurial network with 13​,000 member and 2500 charter members.TiE has 62 chapters in 18 countries. Since its inception, in 1992 in Silicon Valley, TiE members has​ generated over $250 billion of wealth through their entrepreneurial endeavors.

TiE’s sole mandate is to foster entrepreneurship and ​help entrepreneurs create wealth through entrepreneurism. TiE chapters around the globe provide platform for – Networking, Mentorship, Global Connectivity, Entrepreneurship training and Funding to budding entrepreneurs. TiE is one best network in the world that engages successful entrepreneurs and leaders to give back and mentor next generation of entrepreneurs.

History

TiE was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, & senior professionals. There are currently more than 12,000 members and over 1,800 charter members in 61 chapters in 12 countries.

Over the last 25 years of existence TiE Chapters around the world has become a vibrant platform for entrepreneurs, professionals, industry leaders, investors to interact with one another & forge long lasting relationships.

Pillars Of TiE

Since 1992. TiE has been supporting entrepreneurs by offering education, mentorship, networking and funding opportunities. The mission of TiE remains to foster entrepreneurship globally through funding, mentoring, networking and education.

Mentoring

TiE is known for mentoring education and networking to help entrepreneurs and those starting new business. Every day, someone is mentored with the TiE ecosystem and guided towards the right path to achieve great heights. Besides creating wealth the organisation also work to alleviate poverty and unemployment by fostering entrepreneurship worldwide.

Education

TiE signature programs includes the TiE Young Entrepreneurship (TYE), which fosters entrepreneurship and education in high school level students, the TiE International Start up Competition (TISC) which aims to nurture college level students and young start-ups TiE Women’s Forum which empowers women entrepreneurs throughout our network and numerous large scale conferences such as TiECon and TiE Global Summit.

Networking

TiE conference attendees span the spectrum from successful founders of mature companies, entrepreneurs creating new companies, professional from top corporations leading venture capital firms to thought leaders to senior executives and technology professionals

Investing

Several start-ups have received funding and investment from TiE Angel groups in the Network or from Angel Investors. TiE’s success stems from the cycle where chapter member assist younger entrepreneurs with mentoring Investments, networking etc and foster success of younger start-ups in the community.
